After fourteen years of being in “legal limbo”, Illinois’ Parental Notice of Abortion Act was released today through a ruling by the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. This very important law will now shortly be able to go into effect. In the court opinion in this case, Zbaraz v. Madigan, page 35 contains the language that dissolves the permanent injunction that had prevented enforcement of the act for fourteen years.
ICE-PAC members have taken a leadership role in defeating bills intended to repeal the Parental Notice law, making this victory all the more meaningful. Stay tuned for further developments on this law.
